Read4U is a volunteer project by Esther Chen, a high school student from San Diego, California.
Aim of the project is to develop a text-to-narration volunteer network that specifically helps Chinese people with occasion-specific English. The narration allows the Chinese to hear proper English pronunciation, an opportunity that many Chinese may not have access to.
Users upload the transcripts they prepared for certain occasions (job interview, business presentation, or self introduction) and listen to the narration by "readers"--volunteers who read the scripts and record narration into audio feed.
This text-to-narration service is intended for college students, job seekers, and white-collar workers in China. We hope our work can help booster users confidence in their pursuits.
